Apple unveils 16-inch MacBook Pro with high-performance M1 processors

Tech giant Apple, Inc. has recently unveiled the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which promises extraordinary design and performance. The model can be customized with the all-new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors.

These new 10-core processors are equipped with eight ‘high-performance’ cores coupled with two ‘high efficiency’ cores. The M1 Max has double the Pro’s memory bandwidth and GPU cores, with 64 GB unified memory.

The chassis has also been revamped with a new design. The MacBook Pro is 16 mm thick, boasts a 16.2-inch display, and weighs 4.7 pounds. Further, physical keys have been added in place of the touch bar.

The device offers a variety of port selection, including a Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI port, and an SDXC slot on the right, coupled with a headphone port and two more Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left side. Moreover, it comes with a 1080-pixel FaceTime HD Camera, liquid retina XDR display, and a six-speaker sound system.

Apple claims that the upcoming device promises the most connectivity one has ever seen in any of the previous versions of the Mac notebook, with the M1 Pro variant supporting 2 Pro display XDRs, and the M1 Max model can output to 3 of those displays with support for an additional 4K TV.

Notably, the first MacBook Pro 16 was launched in November 2019 and had an uncanny resemblance to the design of the previous 15-inch MacBook Pro powered by Intel’s 9th gen processors. Although it had outstanding keyboard and audio, it lacked in terms of connectivity as it had only two Thunderbolt ports. However, the latest additions seem to address those concerns while packing exceptional performance.

The M1 chip launched by the company last November has been showing promising results in terms of processing power, efficiency, and integrated graphics. Hence, the new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors are also expected to deliver exceptional performance.

The upcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro will be available in space gray and silver models from the coming week, with a starting price of USD 2,499.
