Azul Systems- Eurotech partnership to deliver Open Source Java

Adding Azul to the rich ecosystem of Eurotech partners will help the company’s customers access technology that will help in meeting their needs for smart embedded solutions.

Azul Systems, one of the leaders in Java runtime solutions, recently announced that it is launching a new initiative with Eurotech, a recognized provider or ready-to-use, simple, end-to-end embedded solutions. Azul and Eurotech will be working together to deliver tested, 100% open source and certified builds of OpenJDK for Java developers using Eurotech’s hardware devices to develop building solutions.

Sources close to the matter reported Giuseppe Surace, Eurotech Chief Products and Marketing Officer to say that adding Azul to the rich ecosystem of Eurotech partners will bring the company’s customers yet another block of technology that will help in meeting their needs for smart embedded solutions. Surace added that by collaborating with companies like Azul, Eurotech’s customers are enables to select the right partners to deliver building blocks, wrapped in end-to-end solution that are needed to create embedded IoT services and applications.

Scott Sellers, President and CEO, Azul Systems, has been reported to say that the company is honored to be partnering with one of the innovative pioneers in software and hardware frameworks development for the IoT. Sellers added that Eurotech and its customers will derive the advantage of multiplatform, certified and tested builds of OpenJDK by integrating Zulu Embedded. Apparently, Eurotech customers will also have the benefit of having access to timely Java security updates and bug fixes, one of the features accessed by Zulu Embedded users as well as having Azul’s guarantee of having their IP protected against the risk of open source patent breach and license contamination.

For the record, Zulu Embedded builds of OpenJDK have been shipped by Azul Systems since 2014 with innumerous of instances deployed worldwide in a wide variety of OEM, embedded and IoT use cases. There are various distribution types and form factors of Zulu Embedded that support PowerPC, MIPS and Arm processors.
