ePlus acquires ABS Technology to extend its mid-Atlantic footprint

ePlus, an IT assets financing and selling firm based in United States, recently continued its string of acquisition as it acquired ABS Technology, Virginia-based Cisco solution provider, in order to bridge a gap across the company’s Eastern seaboard coverage.

ABS Technology is 27th acquisition of ePlus since 1997 and it helps the company fill a hole in its education business in the company’s home state of Virginia.

Senior Vice President of ePlus at Herndon, Virginia, Kleyton Parkhurst stated that ePlus procured all Innovative Technology Solutions and Systems, which operates business as ABS Technology, excluding a tiny structural cable company. 

Parkhurst added that structural cabling isn’t the strategic line for company, but the unit is now a valued sub-contractor for the company.

ePlus typically acquires other firms for either of the two reasons. First, expansion of the company in newer geographic regions or novel technology models and second, for emerging technology.

ePlus has K-12 and higher consumers across the United States but not in Virginia. Almost, all the services and sales leadership team of ABS Technology would join ePlus.

Prior to ABS Technology, ePlus acquired SLAIT Consulting, a company providing IT solutions and consulting services based in Virginia Beach, with a robust footprint across mid-Atlantic region. Acquisition of SLAIT Consulting brought the company’s focus on managed service, security consulting, help desk, data center solutions and staffing.

Various other acquisitions of ePlus have helped the company scale new markets and reach out to new geographical areas. ePlus procured Integrated Data Storage in September 2017 which helped ePlus gain grounds in Midwest region, the company developed a strong service that offered disaster recovery and data protection.
