Polar & FORM to deliver heart rate monitoring to FORM AR Swim Goggles

By Akshay Kedari

FORM, the creator of world’s first AR (Augmented Reality) based swim goggles, along with Polar, a wearable fitness and sports technology leader for more than 40 years, reportedly announced that FORM Swim Goggles would extend support to the Polar heart rate monitoring technology beginning November of this year, this would increase the training precision and effectiveness to a level not experienced before by swimmers.

The Swim Goggles are premium swimming goggles having an augmented reality-based see through display that provides real time performance metrics. OH1+ and OH1 by Polar are heart-rate monitors which merge simplicity, comfort and versatility. FORM Swim Goggles would extend support for Polar OH1+ as well as OH1 using a software update that would be delivered by FORM.

By utilizing the company’s FORM Swim Goggles together with the OH1+ or the OH1, swimmers would gain an unparalleled ability to see their own heart rate in the Swim Goggles in the line of sight all while they are swimming, allowing them to measure their performance in the moment precisely – a capability that was not possible previously in the swimming sport.

Completed swims would get synced in FORM Swim App, that comes for both Android™ and iPhone® devices, which would further match up data of heart rate to metrics like stroke rate, split times, pace per 100, stroke count as well as calories in an easy-to-navigate and single view.

Equipped with these capabilities, coaches and swimmers will obtain greater insight from every swim, and thus they’ll be able to build future workouts for swimmers with higher precision than any time before.

According to reports, any financial details pertaining to the collaboration have not been unveiled by the companies.
