QLGG secures $1.1M funds & acquires Accuscore to expand BetQL

By Akshay Kedari

QL Gaming Group, a sports data and iGaming affiliate platform, has recently obtained an additional funding of $1.1 million. Additionally, the company also has closed the acquisition of Accuscore, a Finnish sports simulation company.

This funding and acquisition deal will expand the company’s BetQL capabilities, its platform for sports betting analytics. It will also accelerate the launch of the platform’s in-game and player prop predictions as well as additional sports such as esports, golf, tennis, and international pro soccer.

The funding round was led by Tim & Todd McSweeney, with Jere Doyle, Rob Seaver, Subversive Capital, Karlani Capital, and Boston Seed Capital as participants. The company has currently raised $8.3 million from various investors, including the late David Stern, NBA’s former commissioner; John Kosner, former partner of Stern at Micromanagement Ventures; as well as Ralph Topping, former chief of William Hill.

According to Justin Park, CEO of QL Gaming, the recent acquisition deal will enable the company to largely increase the IP, enhance its position in the market, and position it for strong growth in the future. Its long-term and new investors are prevalent in the casual gaming & sports betting market.

The growth of BetQL will be further accelerated through the injection of the capital, which has registered a surge of 200% in subscription sales during 2018-2019. In the first 18 months of its launch, it has secured nearly 10,000 paying customers, 300,000 free users, and become a seven-figure business. The funds are also expected to boost the burgeoning affiliate marketing business of BetQL. It has also formed partnerships with 10 operators in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Indiana.

Peter Blacklow, Boston Seed Capital’s Managing Partner, who led the seed funding rounds for both DraftKings and QLGG, has stated that the comprehensive knowledge of the QLGG team in engaging the daily fantasy sports (DFS) players through the data is offered seamlessly to the sports betting audiences.
