FZ Digital to offer automation & robotics tech to F&B industry in Singapore

FZ Digital, a novel F&B technology solutions firm, is reportedly introducing its groundbreaking automation and robotics technology to Singapore’s F&B (food and beverage) industry.

The firm, unveiled in October 2022, aims to be the crux of a robot-driven F&B workforce whilst being the most preferred resource for the best F&B technology solutions in the country.

As per sources, FZ Digital, in collaboration with CloudMinds and POSBANK, will roll out Singapore’s first F&B robotics and smart kiosks to encourage innovation and reduce Singapore's F&B manpower crisis.

Under this partnership, two AI robots, smart kiosks in FHA-HoReCa (25 – 28 October 2022), and the Cloud Ginger Lite D Series will be launched as part of the timely solution to tackle the manpower crisis going on in the F&B industry.

These solutions will also support the F&B SMEs to amplify their productivity and revenue by offering a better customer experience.

Speaking on the latest move, Chris Tarr, FZ Digital’s Chief Product Officer, claimed that introducing robotics in the F&B industry is a much-required step, especially in the wake of several challenges faced by the industry.

Chris notified that labor shortages and manpower issues have become very common in Singapore and worldwide, and many restaurants and F&B outlets are unable to recover as the pandemic resulted in putting forward a massive challenge for hiring staff.

Chris further went on to mention that many people who left the country during the lockdown are not planning to return, due to which there has been a severe shortage of labor, leading to higher costs to obtain and retain them.

Worth to mention that deploying robots in the F&B industries is slated to save around 30% to 70% on restaurant labor costs, with many coming out of the prototype phase and performing most of the tasks humans can.

Notably, this is expected to reduce the reliance on humans and save manpower costs.
