LinkedIn’s Creator Accelerator Programme to assist 200 Indian creators

LinkedIn is reportedly bringing its renowned Creator Accelerator Program to India, the country which is known to be its second-largest market after the U.S., with over 85 million active users.  The development comes as the race to woo creators sees rapid growth among the tech behemoths.

Sources claimed that India will be the second market where the professional networking site will launch the program as part of its expansion plans which were announced in September last year. These plans also include a USD 25 million investment specifically reserved for the creators.

The Creator Accelerator Program was first introduced in the United States where each creator is presumed to have received a grant worth USD 15,000. Notably, the program's 10-week incubator-style initiative is intended to assist at least 200 creators in expanding their communities on the platform.

Apart from just receiving a financial grant, the selected cohort of creators will also have access to LinkedIn's community management team that will work on networking opportunities and educational workshops.

Ashutosh Gupta, Country Manager, India at LinkedIn mentioned that the initiative will assist creators in uncovering brilliant business prospects by combining the resources necessary through a wide spectrum of voices. Gupta added that creators are the hub of the community and that this is just the first of many steps the company plans to undertake to support its customer base.

The creators will be handpicked based on their distinctive content, ability to build passionate communities, and spark enticing discussions about topics such as the future of work and mental health, as well as skill. It is worth noting that the initiative will also be available to creators who opt to participate in the Hindi language.

In the same line, LinkedIn added Hindi support to its platform in December 2021, commemorating the company's first Indian language rollout in the country. This comes after LinkedIn witnessed record levels of engagement in the country since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
